BMEF'S OPEN GREENHOUSE DAY AT ACADEMIA, THE OUTDOOR CLASSROOM AT BRIARCLIFF MIDDLE SCHOOL - Sunday May 19th - 1-3 pm

Calling kids of all ages!  Come check out the BMEF's Open Greenhouse Day at Academia at Briarcliff Middle School!

On Sunday, May 19th, from 1-3 p.m., children and their families can enjoy fun activities including:

• Student-Run Tours of the Greenhouse and Academia

• Scavenger Hunt: Visit different stations to collect stamps on a map and win a prize!
• Plant herbs and learn more about plants
• Create sun-catchers
• Meet the Briarcliff High School cheerleaders and learn some simple cheers
• Join a relay race
• and much more!

Also, be sure to visit the tasting stations of fruit smoothies and brief demonstrations from local parents about health and wellness and green living!

  With assistance from a BMEF grant, the Briarcliff Middle School created an Outdoor Classroom called Academia
• 
  Kindergarten Sign Language Program

  For several years, the BMEF has funded a Kindergarten Sign Language Program. This program promotes students' understanding of and interest in sign language.

  SmartBoards

  The BMEF partnered with the school district to equip classrooms in all three schools with SmartBoards.

  The BMEF funded materials and teacher training to bring the Singapore Math method of teaching math to Briarcliff students K-6
