“Academia,” the outdoor classroom at the middle school, adds a rich dimension to multidisciplinary learning. Encompassing an amphitheater, gardens and tile mosaic, the area is modeled on the olive groves of ancient Greece called Academia, where philosophers gathered to discuss the world around them on a journey of wisdom and knowledge.

This unique and progressive classroom setting fosters learning at a higher level. In this natural environment, students plant, perform music, create works of art and poetry, and use math and science concepts outside of the classroom, bringing together curriculum strands to create real world connections.
