This is not your usual high school class! Thanks to seed money from the BMEF, forensic science has evolved into one of the most popular classes at the high school and is a prime example of how a BMEF grant enhances our children’s education.
In this hands-on class, seniors study crime scenes, forensic toxicology, death investigations, forensic psychology, physical evidence, chemical and DNA analyses, serology, firearms and ballistics and more. Students employ critical thinking techniques in the areas of psychology, chemistry, biology and physics to understand how crimes are solved. They develop real world skills and also have the opportunity to earn college credit through an affiliation with Syracuse University.
